Originally broadcast on the 2nd of January 1962.
Harold Steptoe is thirty-seven and, since leaving the army, has been a drudge for his widowed, selfish father Albert, totting for goods to sell in their rag-and-bone business. One day Harold gets the offer of a better job and is determined to take it. Albert, however, fearing loneliness if Harold goes, knows just how to keep his son at home.

This is the first episode in our latest series, Beyond Our Ken.
Originally broadcast on the BBC Light Programme from 1958 to 1964, the series was principally written by Eric Merriman (with Barry Took for the first two series), and starred Kenneth Horne, Kenneth Williams, Hugh Paddick, Betty Marsden throughout the run, with Bill Pertwee joining in the second series. Music was provided initially by the Malcolm Mitchell Trio  then later by the BBC Variety Orchestra.

Murder By Proxy is the 14th episode in season 3 of the American radio series The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, written by Edith Meiser, first aired on NBC on 18 january 1933, starring Richard Gordon as Sherlock Holmes and Leigh Lovell as Dr. Watson.
